Why is it needed?
In case the user expects a message from a sender which neither shows up in the user's Inbox, nor in user's Junk folder, it is possible that the message got quarantined. The user may access the quarantine mailbox using the steps below to review and release false positives. In case the sender is quarantined repeatedly, the Microsoft 365 Exchange Admin should be notified to review and update the list of allowed senders.
- Log in to Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Center https://protection.microsoft.com as the user
- Click on the "Threat Management" option in the left navigation panel
- Click the “Review” option under the “Threat management” Navigation Menu Option
- Click on the “Quarantine” tile on the main window panel on the right
- This may take a little while to populate the list of messages sent to the user blocked by quarantine.
- After selecting the message(s) you may click the ”release” button to have the message released to the user inbox
